Bathroom Remodeling with Toilet Bidet

You live in an older home, and you have decided on a bathroom remodeling project. You want to enlarge your bathroom. You’d like to have a garden tub instead of that short, economy tub that came with the house. You’d also like to add a toilet bidet.
Bathroom remodeling with a toilet bidet* and a garden tub may mean you need to enlarge your bathroom. Older bathrooms were meant for efficient wash-ups and nothing more. People spent little time in them, so used as little of the total floor space as necessary.
Solutions
One way to accomplish your bathroom remodeling with a toilet bidet, garden tub, and even more, is to use the room next to your current bathroom. This can be done in one of two ways.
1. Make the current, small bathroom a toilet room only. Remove the bathtub or shower stall. In its place, install your toilet bidet. Leave the sink, and complete your bathroom remodeling. You will have a room dedicated to one purpose only – a toilet room.
In the room next door to your toilet room, install a garden tub and a large vanity. You may also want a corner shower stall, depending on space available. This is now your “bath” room, and can be a retreat from the day’s stress. If someone else needs to use the toilet, they will not intrude on your peace.
2. A second solution to your bathroom remodeling is to combine the two rooms into one. Remove the wall, and create a large, spacious bathroom. You can install the same fixtures as above, but all will be in one room. Some people prefer this arrangement for personal convenience.
Considerations
Bathroom remodeling with a toilet bidet or other major fixture involved will mean relocation of pipes and drains. Unless you yourself are an experienced contractor, it would be wise to hire such bathroom remodeling work done by a licensed professional.
Bathroom remodeling that includes removal of walls, relocation of pipes, and rewiring will require building permits and inspections. Whether you do the work yourself or hire a contractor, be sure you get the necessary permits before you begin.
